1st Ship Ceremony
Trois-Rivières, January 7, 2010 - The vessel M/V Federal Agno, property of Fednav Ltd and Chinese flag, arrived at the Port of Trois-Rivières on January 7, becoming the first international ship of 2010. Built in Japan in 1985 this bulk carrier, 182.80 meters long and 23.10 meters wide, has a load capacity of 29,643 metric tons.
From Vila do Conde, Brazil, the M/V Federal Agno and his Indian and Sri Lankan crew, assured delivery in Trois-Rivières of a cargo of 27,400 metric tones of alumina for Rio Tinto Alcan of Shawinigan. The vessel was moored to Section No. 17 of the Port of Trois-Rivières for a period of approximately 3 days. During its stay in Trois-Rivières, it is represented by Ramsey Greig & Cie while the unloading of alumina is provided by Les Élévateurs des Trois-Rivières.
The ceremony highlighting the arrival of "first ship of the year" was held today. To mark the occasion, a reproduction of an art work to a local artist, Mr. Pierre Labrecque was given to the master Mr. Santosh Uttam Naik.
